This Privacy Policy explains how MakeApp (the “App”, “we”, “us”),
operated by [Your legal name], handles information when you use the App. MakeApp is a
selfie-based makeup assistant: you provide a photo and your preferences, and the App
returns AI-generated makeup recommendations and a preview image.
We built the App to be privacy-respecting by default. We do not run
analytics or tracking SDKs, we do not show ads, and we do
not sell your data.
1. Information we process
- Your photo. The selfie you take, or the photo you choose from your
library, is sent over an encrypted connection through our processing service to our AI
providers (Anthropic and OpenAI) solely to generate your makeup analysis and preview
image. Your photo is used only to produce your result. It is not stored on our servers
after processing, is not used to train AI models, and is never used for advertising,
tracking, profiling, facial recognition, or identification.
- Your results. The analysis text and generated preview images are
stored locally on your device only. We do not keep a copy on a server.
- A random device identifier. The App generates a random identifier
(a UUID) stored securely on your device to manage your subscription and usage credits.
It is not your name, email, Apple ID, phone number, or an advertising identifier, and it
is not linked to your real-world identity.
- Purchase and subscription status. Purchases are processed by Apple
and managed through RevenueCat. We receive your subscription/credit status — not your
payment card or full billing details.
- Limited diagnostic logs. Our processing service may keep transient
technical logs (for example, error and timing information) to keep the service working.
These are not used to identify you.
2. How we use information
- To generate your makeup analysis and preview image.
- To manage your subscription, one-time credit packs, and remaining usage.
- To respond to your support requests.
- To keep the App secure and working correctly.
3. What we never do
We do not sell or rent your data; we do not use your photo for advertising, tracking,
profiling, facial recognition, biometric templates, or identification; and we do not
create user profiles for marketing.

We rely on a small number of trusted providers to operate the App. They process data on
our behalf and only as needed to provide their part of the service:
5. Storage and retention
Your photos, results, and saved looks are stored on your device. We keep your random
device identifier and credit balance on our service for as long as you use the App so your
purchases work across sessions. Photos are processed transiently by our AI providers and
are not retained by us afterward.
6. Your choices and rights
- Delete your data. In the App, go to Profile → Privacy & Data →
“Delete all saved looks & history” to remove your locally stored results and images.
- Uninstalling the App removes all locally stored data from your device.
- Depending on where you live (for example, under GDPR or CCPA/CPRA), you may have
rights to access, correct, or delete personal data and to opt out of sale (we do not sell

7. Children
MakeApp is not directed to children under 13 (or under 16 where applicable), and we do
not knowingly collect personal information from them.
8. International transfers
Our providers are located primarily in the United States, so your information may be
processed there. We rely on appropriate safeguards where required.
9. Security
Data in transit is protected with encryption (HTTPS/TLS), and the device identifier is
held in your device’s secure storage. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure,
but we take reasonable measures to protect your information.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We will revise the “Last updated” date
above, and significant changes may be highlighted in the App.
