This Privacy Policy explains how Vélora (the “App”, “we”, “us”) handles information when you use the App. Vélora is a selfie-based makeup assistant: you provide a photo and your preferences, and the App returns AI-generated makeup recommendations and a preview image.
We built the App to be privacy-respecting by default. We do not run analytics or tracking SDKs, we do not show ads, and we do not sell your data.
The only face data Vélora processes is the photo (selfie) you choose to take or select from your photo library. This photo contains a person's face, which is why we treat it as sensitive face data. Vélora does not create, extract, derive, or store any faceprint, facial-geometry map, biometric template, or other biometric identifier, and does not use the photo for facial recognition, identity verification, authentication, advertising, tracking, or profiling.
How it is used. Your photo is used only to generate your personalized makeup result: an analysis of general facial features (such as face shape and skin tone) with makeup recommendations, and a makeup-preview image that simulates a look on your photo. It is not used for any other purpose, and it is not used to train any AI model.
Sharing and storage. To produce that result, your photo is sent over an encrypted (HTTPS/TLS) connection through our processing service (hosted on Cloudflare) to our AI providers, who act as processors on our behalf: Anthropic (feature and makeup analysis) and OpenAI (preview-image generation). It is shared with no one else, and is never sold or used for advertising. Your photo is not stored on our servers after your result is returned; the resulting analysis text and preview image are stored only locally on your device.
Retention. On our side, your photo is processed transiently and is not retained after your result is generated. Our AI providers do not use it to train their models and retain API inputs only for a limited period (generally no more than 30 days) for security and abuse-monitoring purposes before deleting them, per their published API data-usage policies. On your device, you control retention: results and images remain until you delete them (Profile → Privacy & Data → “Delete all saved looks & history”) or uninstall the App.
We do not sell or rent your data; we do not use your photo for advertising, tracking, profiling, facial recognition, biometric templates, or identification; and we do not create user profiles for marketing.
We rely on a small number of trusted providers to operate the App. Each acts as our processor under agreements that require it to protect your information and use it only to provide its part of the service — a level of protection consistent with this Policy. They process data on our behalf and only as needed to provide their part of the service:
Your photos, results, and saved looks are stored on your device. We keep your random device identifier and credit balance on our service for as long as you use the App so your purchases work across sessions. Photos are processed transiently by our AI providers and are not retained by us afterward.
Vélora is not directed to children under 13 (or under 16 where applicable), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.
Our providers are located primarily in the United States, so your information may be processed there. We rely on appropriate safeguards where required.
Data in transit is protected with encryption (HTTPS/TLS), and the device identifier is held in your device’s secure storage. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we take reasonable measures to protect your information.
We may update this policy from time to time. We will revise the “Last updated” date above, and significant changes may be highlighted in the App.
